¿ì¸® ´ëÇÐÀº ¹ý¹«ºÎ°¡ ÁÖ°üÇϴ K-STAR(Korea-Science & Technology Advanced human-Resources) ºñÀÚÆ®·¢ ¿î¿µ ´ëÇÐÀ¸·Î ¼±Á¤ µÇ¾ú½À´Ï´Ù. ÀÌ¿¡ À̰ø°è ¿Ü±¹ÀΠ´ëÇпø»ý ¹× ¹Ú»çÈÄ¿¬±¸¿øÀ» ´ë»óÀ¸·Î K-STAR ºñÀÚÆ®·¢ Á¦µµ¸¦ ¾Æ·¡¿Í °°ÀÌ ½ÃÇàÇÏ¿À´Ï °ü½É Àִ ¿Ü±¹ÀΠÀÎÀç ¿©·¯ºÐÀÇ ¸¹Àº Áö¿ø ¹Ù¶ø´Ï´Ù.

Our university has been selected as a participating institution for the K-STAR (Korea-Science & Technology Advanced Human-Resources) Visa Track Program, administered by the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Korea.

We invite outstanding international graduate students and postdoctoral researchers in science and engineering fields to apply for this program.


1. Program Overview

The K-STAR Visa Track is a program administered by the Ministry of Justice to encourage outstanding international graduate students and postdoctoral researchers to establish long-term residency in Korea. 


2. Benefits

  1) Eligible applicants may obtain a K-STAR Residence Visa (F-2-7S), allowing them to stay in Korea for up to five years.

  2)Those who meet the required qualifications may subsequently apply for a K-STAR Permanent Resident Visa (F-5-S1) or Special Naturalization for Outstanding Talent


3. Eligibility: Applicants must have the intention to reside in Korea and satisfy both the degree requirement and the field of study requirement below.

  A. Degree Requirement (must meet one of the following)

  - Received a Masters or Doctoral degree from our university in August 2025 or February 2026;

  - Expected to receive a Masters or Doctoral degree from our university in August 2026; or

  - Received a doctoral degree from our university and has been employed as a postdoctoral researcher at our university for at least one year as of August 31, 2026.

  ¡Ø Applicants who have already obtained (or are expected to obtain) a doctoral degree will be given priority.

  B. Field of Study
  - Applicants must major in one of the following science and technology fields:

Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Earth Science, Biological Sciences, Agriculture, Forestry, Fisheries, Food Science, Health & Medical Sciences, Brain Science, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science & Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Information & Communication Technology (ICT), Energy & Resources, Nuclear Engineering, Environmental Science & Engineering, Civil & Transportation Engineering 


4. Selection Criteria

Applicants will be evaluated based on: 

  - Academic and research achievements

  - Research potential

  - Intention to settle in Korea (including the feasibility of the settlement plan and Korean language proficiency)

  5) Consent Form for Collection and Use of Personal Information

  6) Supporting Documents (e.g., language proficiency certificates, industry-academia collaboration achievements, etc.)

  7) Recommendation Letter

    - One recommendation letter from the academic advisor (or principal investigator for postdoctoral researchers).

    - Only applicants who are selected as department nominees after the document screening will be required to submit a recommendation letter. The submission deadline will be announced later. 


6. Application Period & Submission

  - Application Period: July 6 (Mon) – July 17 (Fri), 2026 (Late submissions will not be accepted.)

  - Submission Method: Submit scanned copies of all required documents via email to: skkukstar@skku.edu 

 

7. Important Notes

  - All application documents must be prepared in Korean

  - Only applicants who are finally selected as K-STAR Visa Track nominees through the universitys screening process will receive a Letter of Recommendation from the University President (scheduled for mid-August 2026).

  - Applications containing false or misleading information may be disqualified.

  - Each applicant may apply for the K-STAR Visa Track a maximum of two times
